The Mother of all Beans - Arabica Coffee BeansOriginally, Arabica coffee beans were from the land of Ethiopia and also Yemen. It is regarded as the first type of coffee ever grown in farms. Farmers have been plating Arabica coffee crops for more than a thousand years. Compared to other coffee beans (like Robusta for example) Arabica is well known as the best. Way Back In Europe Four centuries ago Europe was already a well developed society and that society is the one boosting the enchantment of Arabica coffee beans. And though many of his advisors oppose his plan he pushed on and tried a cup of coffee and then blessed the brew making it a christian drink. The colony saw the birth of th first coffee house (and all that followed it). The coffee houses then became the witness of many important events like the declaration of independence, boston tea party, the meeting place of american revolutioners and where the 1st continental congress was born. Those important events is only the beginning of the continous relationship between arabica coffee beans and america. Year after year coffee gained more and more fans in american land. During wars and battles soldiers get coffee has their primary rations. Mixed it with chicory when their supplies were running short. The Present Luckily today you don't need to join any revolutioners group just drink some coffee. With coffee shops in every corner it's just plain easy to get your favorite coffee. We even have the luxuy of choosing from multitude of coffee variations like latte, cappuccino, espresso and hundred other kinds. However Arabica is not alone in this world. It has some other buddies in the world of coffee named Robusta and Liberica. Though most people clain Arabica as the best the fans of Robusta can not be underestimated applauding only the Arabica blend is unfair. It contemporaries is equally good as well, depending upon a person's preference. aside from Arabica coffee beans there are the other two varieties, the Robusta and the Liberica. Robusta on the other hand was discovered in the jungles of Belgium Congo. It is hardy and produces multiple crops in a year. It is best made into instant coffee, which lent Robusta its popularity. But unlike the Arabica Robusta does not have the aroma and flavor of richness. The Liberica came from the lowlands of Liberia. It is mainly cultivated in Malaysia, Philippines and Java. among the three types of coffee beans it has the poorest flavor, however it is the hardiest and disease free of them all. It is simply good for blending and it's not of export quality. |
