When you walk down the coffee isle in the supermarket you may notice that one or two of coffee brands sold there have a label saying "certified organic coffee". What does that label mean and wow significant is it?

The label saying certified organic coffee means that the coffee were grown and processed using environmentally safe procedures and methods. The farmers ensures that their coffee crop are grown without pesticides and chemical fertilizers allowing precious parts of the ecosystem in and around the coffee farm to live and prosper. Not every farmer can claim that their product is organic. Truly organic coffee must pass the environmentally safe standards just like any other organic product.

Organic farmer is actually harder to implement than ordinary farming. But despite of all this hassles the organic coffee farmers are willing to stick to organic farming because of the higher price of organic product. They are enjoying higher price even when the world coffee market is going low.
