Organic Coffee Beans

These days you can find organic vegetables more easily compared to a few years ago. The same thing is happening with coffe. Finding organic coffee beans is also easier these days as people are more aware of their health and put more value to organic produce.

If you put the organic beans with their non-organic buddies you won't see any difference. The difference is hidden deep in the beans themselves.

Coffee farmers who know the importance in keeping the environment safe do not use pesticides to kill the pests infecting their coffee trees. They also don't use chemical fertilizers and use organic fertilizers instead. Thanks to this practice their coffee beans are becoming environment friendly. The beans are also healthier to people who consume them since no dangerous chemicals are used in their growth.Even after the berries are picked dangerous chemicals are not used during their post harverst processing.

Roasting Organic Coffee Beans

When you buy organic coffee beans at the specialized shop that sell them you can have it roasted at the store or you can also choose to roast them yourself. If you choose the latter you can roast them to your liking but remember not to "over roast" them.

The basic guide is that the longer the beans are roasted then the coffee you brew will have stronger flavour. The recommended amount of time for home roasting the beans are about thirteen to fifteen minutes. The roasting method is similar to roasting non-organic beans. Once put in the roaster you have to constantly turning the beans to make sure each and every beans are evenly roasted. This is very important because your coffee flavor will be more stable when all of the beans are homogenous / evenly roasted. Remember to end the roasting process once you see the beans starting to look greasy and shiny or else you will overcook them.

Grinding

Not many people aware of this but if you grind organic coffee beans using ordinary grinder then it cannot be called organic anymore. Common grinder may have chemicals used as the coating and once the beans exposed to it then it become just like any other non-organic beans. There is a special equipment to grind organic coffee bean and the specialized shop who sell organic coffee bean usually have it. So it's best to have your beans ground on the store instead of grinding them at home yourself.

Healthier Flavor and Body

Organic coffee beans are toxin free and some people who already drink them claim that it has more natural flavor. They are certainly more expensive than non-organic but just like any other organic products there are certain advantages that you can get compared to drinking ordinary coffee.
