The La Pavoni Tre Spade Professional Burr features chrome or brass cases to match your espresso machine. The La Pavoni grinders operate two ways. For daily serving applications, grind directly into your coffee or for larger amounts of coffee, grind directly into the removable hopper. The grinder can also automatically grind beans and shut off when it is finished.

The slow motion of the grind preserves more natural bean flavor while offering a wide variety of coffee grinds - The precision timer allows you to choose from ten to thiry seconds of grind time - Easy-to-read setting on the side of the hopper ensures the perfect grind - Hopper holds a half pound of coffee beans. Beautifully designed, this conical burr grinder features adjustable settings for various grind options. Choose from ultra-fine for Turkish coffee or large and coarse for percolators. The settings offer consistently shaped grinds and even extraction, which is the key to producing flavorful coffee. In addition, the unit's metal conical burrs preserve more natural bean flavor than blade drivers due to the slower grind nature. The grinder comes equipped with a removable bean hopper that holds 1/2 pound of coffee beans, and its stainless-steel/polymer base offers start and stop control, as well as an on/off switch. Other highlights include a variable timer with 10 to 30 seconds of grind time, anti-static technology, and a removable burr for convenient cleaning. The conical burr grinder measures 5-1/4 by 7 by 11-1/4 inches. -PLUS- Accessory Kit <> The Urnex Urnex Coffee Grinder Cleaner.
Customer Review :
Don't waste your money!
We purchased the Breville BCG450XL Ikon Conical Burr Grinder from Amazon on June 18, 2008 and were very pleased with its performance. I was about to write a positive product review. However, yesterday, March 29, 2009, the on/off switch (the one on the side and which is redundant to the one on the front) failed (fell apart in pieces actually) and the product is now useless.
On examination, the on of switch was so poorly designed with such non-durable materials that I am suprised it didn't fail much sooner.
Needless to say, we didn't get our money's worth out of this product. Don't waste your money!

| Editorial Review :
An excellent espresso machine deserves an excellent coffee grinder to ensure uniform, specific grinds so that the machine can deliver the best possible espresso. The Pasquini Moka Doser Coffee Grinder, designed for the home, office or commercial coffee bar, is just such a machine. A powerful ally to any espresso machine, it is the perfect partner for the Pasquini Livia 90 Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine . The grinding wheel is made of tempered steel. The 55 millimeter wide burr grinding wheels of the K2 grinder produces superior uniformity in coffee grounds. The Moka s coffee dosing system is perfect for high use situations like you see in the commercial coffee bars. With a pull of the dosing lever, the correct amount of ground coffee is dispensed directly into the filter. Other ground coffee is stored in a dosing unit or catching bin where it is kept fresh and ready to go for the next brewing.

Questions & Answers
Question : what is the best brand of coffee grinder. also electric vs. hand grinder? why?
also where is a site showing how to sharpen knives pref. with added video. can a bread knife be sharpened. (put in 2 questions because down on pts. they say) thanks.
Answer:
I have a Cuisinart electric grinder (the only way to go is electric). I've had mine for over 10 years and no problem. I also have another that I use just for grinding spices...Regarding your serrated knife-if it did not cost alot of money and is not high quality, better to just toss it and buy a new one. If it is high quality, you will want a pro to sharpen it--but it's not gonna be cheap--they are labor intensive to sharpen.

Question : How do you clean a spice/coffee grinder?
I have this electric spice grinder and i want to grind sesame seeds in it. I have used it for coffee beans before. So, how do I clean it properly so that i am not mixing sesame seeds with coffee beans?
Answer:
Tear up a piece of bread and run it in the grinder. It's like a sponge and will clean things up nicely. I use it all the time.

Question : Can you grind other things besides meat in a meat grinder?
we are looking for a heavy duty grinder for food. we need a grinder to grind up roots into powder, and we don't think that a coffee grinder will do the job.can we put things besides meat in a meat grinder?if not, what would you suggest grinding roots in?we are looking for an electric grinder.thank you.
Answer:
You can grind anything in there. Just make sure to wash it thoroughly after each use. I actually put raw cranberries in mine to make cranberry salad. So yeah, pretty much anything will grind up in there. But it will not grind it powder-fine. You will likely need to process it again in a food processor or coffee grinder to get it into a powder.

Question : Looking for info. on a Coffee Mill / Grinder
I found an old vintage electric coffee mill made by Cincinnati Time Recorder Co. It weighs about 65 lbs. and is in good shape. Plugged it in and the motor runs smoothly too.I could not see letting it get tossed in a landfill. But I can not find any info on this particular grinder. The company mostly made time clocks dating back to 1896. And I think they made kitchen items up till the mid 1940's.Would like to determine if it is worthless or an item that someone would collect? It is a model #225 if that helps anyone.
Answer:
put it on e-bay if you don't find someone here how wants it maybe someone will want it

Question : How long should I grind coffee for?
Good Morning! I finally decided to try whole bean coffee instead of ground coffee! Two quick questions:1. Does whole bean coffee really have more flavor than ground coffee?and2. For how long should I grind the coffee for? I have one of those small personal sized electric grinders. The directions with the grinder said 20 seconds, but I just wanted to verify on that with other coffee drinkers! Thanks!Randy
Answer:
Whole beans from those clear dispensers @ the grocery store are not much better than pre-ground coffee. Beans in valve-sealed bags are as fresh as you can get without buying right from the roaster or roasting your own.Blade grinders aren't great for coffee as they pulverized (not grind) the beans, but you can use them for most drip brewers pretty well. 20 seconds is a good starting point, you'll be able to judge your preference after a few tries.Don't go 20 seconds straight. Blades create heat which damages the bean's flavor. Go in 3-5 second bursts, that will also let you look between bursts to see how the grind looks.
