Customer Review :

Best espresso.

This is by far the best espresso I've had, very smooth, I have tried others and they are always bitter so this is the only one I buy now, when you find something you like stick with it, good price too.

Excellent espresso without an expensive espresso machine.

I have been making it in my single serve Senseo machine that comes out a little less foam than an espresso machine but tastes just as good. The grounds are a little fine so I have to use a little more to get a stronger espresso shot. If I wanted a regular cup of coffee, I use a little less and add a little of International white chocolate macadamia creamer. Overall, it's an excellent coffee. I will be ordering more or try others once I'm getting down to my last can.

The cheapest way to make greatest espresso

I started drinking espresso coffee about a year ago at a small coffee shop in Seattle and fell in love with it. To stop the high expenditure and not wanting to drink crap at Megabucks, I bought a Mr. Coffee ECMP50 Espresso/ Cappuccino Maker, an Aerolatte Milk Frother, Satin Finish and the various lavazza coffees. These gizmos along with the Lavazza ground coffee and whole organic milk makes really good cappuccinos at a really good price. We spent under a hundred bucks on the gizmos and we drink excellent coffee at home, whenever we want, at about 40c a cup which is amazing !!

Top bean

One of my favorites to use in my old reliable francis x1. I never bother with grinding my own bean, especially because I enjoy this brand as-is without the extra step. There are definitely better espresso to be had, but as my generic, always in the cupboard, this is my usual go-to.

Very disappointing

I consider myself a coffee conoisseur but not a coffee snob. While I like freshly roasted, whole beans, I welcomed the chance to buy pre-ground espresso from Italy...in cans. I had high hopes based upon reviews here and looked forward to receiving my first shipment.

Kudos to Amazon for a great price and quick shipping. However! That does not make up for the very poor quality coffee inside!

What a major disappointment. The coffee is pale brown, not a deep rich color. It is a little coarsely ground for an espresso machine. The back of the can states this is espresso coffee, but yet describes itself as a "medium roast" with "medium body." Where is the strong, dark, flavorful, aromatic, rich blend needed for a true espresso?

I think I'll pass this right on over to my husband for use in his drip coffee maker.

Customer Review :

best coffee ever!

This is my favorite coffee outside of Italy. It is the only brand my husband and I drink. We can't drink drip coffee anymore because it tastes so terrible compared to the Lavazza. If you are a coffee lover this is a great product, and you will LOVE it. My friends always come over for a Latte! Like the name, it is creamy with lots of flavor!

Excellent coffee

No bitter test even though it makes a strong cup of coffee. Rich and Creamy. will buy again as soon as Amazon start selling it not through the third party.

Best Espresso By Far!!!

The tastiest espresso is yielded from Crema E Gusto. A nice chocolate undertone. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Full-bodied, bitter coffee.

I've been brewing this using my Bialetti Moka Express 6-Cup Stovetop Percolator, and so far every single batch has been bitter to the point where I've had to cut it with hot water to cut down on the bitterness and make it drinkable.

The grind on this coffee is incredibly fine, almost like dust, which is what I think is the reason it's so bitter. I figured it would work fine in a stovetop expresso maker since they show one on the front of the package, but I guess I was wrong.

After reading all the glowing reviews here, I'm pretty disappointed in this coffee.

the real taste of an Italian coffee

This is my favorite one. I'm Italian and I used to drink this coffee also in Italy. It's the one that I prefer for my morning, after lunch and after dinner coffee, and I make it with the typical Italian coffee machine called Moka by Bialetti. Try it to believe me!

LavAzza, Italy's favourite coffee, has been roasting its fine coffee, unequalled both in taste and freshness, since 1895. LavAzza Qualita Rossa is a blend of the highest quality coffees. It is evenly roasted and carefully ground to produce a coffee of exceptional strength, body and aroma. Product of Italy.

Customer Review :

The best coffee around....

All of Lavazza's coffees that I've tried are excellent. I use espresso - as you can see by the label - the way I would ordinary coffee in my drip coffee maker. Lavazza espresso yields a strong yet never bitter brew. There non-espresso grinds also are excellent. You absolutely can't go wrong with Lavazza.

Excellent espresso.

I enjoy a good espresso every morning. I make mine in a stovetop espresso maker and it comes out beutifully. Lavazza Qualita Rossa is a medium roast blend of 30% Robusta and 70% Arabica. It is very aromatic and has a good body and nice finish.

I LIKE THIS BRAND BUT !

I USE MY ESPRESSO MACHINE EVERY DAY, I HAVE THE BLACK CAN VERY GOOD, THE BLUE BRICK VERY GOOD. THIS ONE [RED BRICK} IS GOOD BUT I DON'T GET A GOOD CREMA,NOR DO I FIND IT STRONG ENOUGH. I ALSO USE ALLISSA COFFEE ALSO AVAILABLE FROM AMAZON. I THINK ALISSA IS THE BEST ONE,NEXT THE BLUE BRICK AND BLACK CAN OF LAVAZZA.ALL THESE ESPRESSOS LEAVE A PLEASANT TASTE AND HAVE NO BITTERNESS TO THEM. I DO NOT THINK YOU COULD GO WRONG WITH ANY ONE OF THESE. STEVEN

Real Italian espresso

Qualita' Rossa is what I had in Italy, awesome quality and taste, not over-roasted as many pretend-espressos. The convenience of having a 4-pack automatically shipped by Amazon every 3 months AND on top of that having a discount for doing that is unbeatable. I doubt I'll ever get tired of QR's taste, and if I do I'll stop the shipments.

The best coffee in the world!

Americans don't know good coffee. Drinking watered down tasteless ones from the big jug coffee machines, or those coffee-flavored sweet milk lattes and mochas at Starbucks have made you unappreciative for the real coffee.
Buy this Lavazza, a good 15 bar espresso machine and small porcelain cups. Make a double short espresso, pour a sip of milk and enjoy the real deal - the best coffee in the world. The thing that Italians call cappuccino.

Eight O'Clock Coffee

I enjoy all types of coffee and like to have variety in my coffee and one of them on my list is Eight O'Clock Coffee it is a staple in my house I would reccomend this coffee and stock up with it on your pantry shelves it was a very good deal a pack of 4 for about $24.00, the shipping was on time, good delivery!

Great price for unpicky coffee drinkers

I noticed there were some very negative reviews for this coffee, but we were looking for something inexpensive that we could get delivered through Amazon Prime, so we gave it a shot. What I've concluded is that this is a great coffee at a great price for coffee drinkers who aren't particularly discriminating in their coffee tastes (especially if you doctor it up with plenty of cream and sugar, as we tend to do). Honestly, we thought this coffee was perfect until we traveled to Panama and tasted real fresh-roasted, mountain grown coffee. After that, coming home to Eight O'Clock wasn't so great. But if you are already drinking pre-ground coffee, and don't have a particular brand preference, I'm guessing you'll be totally happy with this product. And because we're cheap, we're still drinking it too. :)

Great Coffee

For a fairly old brand, the coffee is very tasty and a very good value. It won't make you think of Kona Coffee but a much better than the general store brands

Nothing Special

I ordered this coffee because I had read in Consumer Reports that it was the best tasting coffee for a very low price point. Unfortunately it was less than impressive. And I had to order 4 bags to make it cost effective! I'll stick with my Peets Coffee or Seattle's Best in the future.

Eight O'clock Coffee

I love this coffee! My parents used this coffee in the 1940's. So did all our friends and neighbors.
It was good then.....today, when I drink a cup, it takes me back to a calmer and more peaceful time. Happy memories!
The flavor is great and has a richness we can all appreciate. It is also reasonably priced, with free shipping and a discount if you subscribe. Try it!

Questions & Answers
Question : Does anyone have a suggestion on what model and brand of home coffee roaster I should purchase?
I want to buy a coffee roaster for my husband for his birthday. The problem is that I have no idea what one to get. He is REALLY into his coffee being freshly roasted and has a friend who roasts his own and just loves it. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. My husband is a wonderful, hardworking man who deserves a special gift.

Answer:
I've been roasting for years.I started with the Fresh Roast 8http://www.sweetmarias.com/prod.freshroast.phpIt is great for a first-time roaster, but it can't do large nough amounts for someone who drinks a lot of coffee. Mine lasted for about 4 years with plenty of use.For larger amounts try the Gene Cafehttp://www.sweetmarias.com/prod.genecafe.phpIt will let him do plenty of roasting and gives plenty of control. My current method is actually the cheapest, but I actually enjoy the hands-on of it. I now use a heat gun.http://www.homeroaster.com/heatgun.htmlhttp://www.ineedcoffee.com/04/heatgun/http://www.instruct ables.com/id/SZ2TY3EF3GAG1LS/This you have to do outside as there is a lot of smoke & chaf gets everywhere, but I love it. My method is a little different than what's described. I bought a strainer that fits the rim of a steel bowl perfectly. It allows the hot air to circulate better. I can roast a weeks worth of coffee in about 20-30 minutes.Update: Yeah, VC, I get almost all my green from them.

Question : Where can I buy a home coffee roaster in Chicago, not online. Target only sells them online.?

Question : How do you become a master coffee Roaster?
Is there a school or what

Answer:
Your best option would be to start on the ground floor with one of the best new independent coffee roasters in the industry (like stumptown, intelligentsia, and others) and learn from them, as apprentice so-to-say. There is a tremendous amount to learn, not just about roasting , but about the coffee itself. You've really got to understand the bean in order to bring out the right characteristics during the roast. Tom at Sweet Marias is an excellent source of information for the home roaster so feel free to ask him, and others in the industry, for advice.
